1) Make two lists - one of website conventions used on Marcus Rashford and Kim Kardashian's official website and one of social media conventions found on their Instagram pages. 

M: Brand logo= (symbolic and verbal code) name on it minimal text, unique, sans serif

Profile picture+ banner (nonverbal code) = reinforce his sports star persona as a football player.

K: Homepage link= first designer resell site, this website selling clothes actually worn/owned by the Kardashian.

Link to her shop = using website social media to sell product or promote brands reinforces her net worth. online presence all about money.



2) How does Marcus Rashford's website and social media promote his brand? Give at least three examples of different pages / posts / images from his website or social media. 

Minimalistic logo presents his humility (modern) his name is on it, unique. ----> recognisable because of it being a unique style.

promoting books and other books that are not written by him on his website  to go try promote reading to children.. 

shows an image of a newspaper to promote his political wants for change and showing people his affect already.

3) How does Kim Kardashian's website and social media promote her brand? Give at least three examples of different pages / posts / images from her brand websites or social media. 

has links to her website on her description to promote her website and products to her fans.

Other brands who collab with her because of her large following which is very desirable.

He embodies a powerful brand to sell products, the context of his upbringing means he can convincingly support good causes, he is a typical influencer, he promotes football. He is a celebrity sports star and social campaigner.

5) How does Kim Kardashian's website and social media promote other media products or websites using the Kardashian brand (e.g. Keeping Up With The Kardashians TV show)? 

Kim Kardashian utilizes her significant social media presence and personal brand to promote related media ventures by incorporating them into her genuine daily content, fostering audience engagement, and employing cross-platform strategies. 

Representations

1) How does Marcus Rashford use different aspects of mise-en-scene (e.g. clothes/costume/ settings/locations) to create representations of himself on his website and social media? 

wearing a suit professionally like a politician by the way he stands. colours scheme  is dark and minimalistic which makes his shirt contrast and make him stand out, he is the main focus of the website. collection of images of him playing football showcases his career and his successes. He shows the political side as well has his career as a footballer.

2) What examples can you find of website pages, social media posts or aspects of his brand that create a positive representation of Marcus Rashford? You may wish to comment on his discussion of family or his campaigns - his page on the FareShare campaign website may help with this question.

His tweets and retweets makes him look good as he focusses on the wellbeing of children and celebrates being able to feed them during 2020. There are images of him volunteering in a foodbank which shows how he sacrifices his time and has his own uniform, which shows that he has spent a significant amount of time there.

3) How does Marcus Rashford's online presence challenge stereotypes? Think about gender (masculinity), race/ethnicity, social class or football here. 

challenges the stereotype that boys don't read books by promoting his books and other books.

He came from a lower class background and now he is a rich man so this subverts the stereotype that poor people aren't successful.

4)  What representation of celebrity is created by Kim Kardashian's website and social media? How are audience encouraged to view celebrity? 

Kim Kardashian's website and social media create a representation of celebrity as a brand that can be built and monetized through a curated, "authentic" persona and constant engagement. Audiences are encouraged to view celebrity as attainable through imitation, with an illusion of intimacy created by parasocial interactions that drive them to desire the celebrity's lifestyle and products. This is achieved by blending personal stories with strategic product endorsements, creating a dynamic where fans become active participants and consumers in the celebrity's empire. 


5) What gender stereotypes are reinforced or challenged in Kim Kardashian's online presence? 

Kim Kardashian's online presence presents a complex, often contradictory, dynamic: it simultaneously reinforces traditional gender stereotypes related to beauty and the male gaze, while also challenging others by promoting female empowerment and a broader definition of femininity and body image. 

so, reinforces the idea that women wear makeup.

subverts the stereotype that women cant be successful.
